COMPLETED
The total length of public roads of national importance across Ukraine is 47.8 thousand km, of which 40 thousand km are located in government-controlled territory.
Engineering structures on public roads of national importance include bridges, overpasses, viaducts, flyovers, tunnels, culverts, and other constructions that ensure uninterrupted and safe traffic flow across natural and artificial obstacles, as well as the reliable functioning of the road network.
Currently, 5,387 transport structures are in operation on public roads of national importance within Ukraine’s controlled territory.

ONGOING PROJECTS
Construction and repair of engineering structures are being carried out at 25 sites, including 8 sites located in frontline areas.
The main repair and construction works are focused on structures that were damaged and require reconstruction, as well as those in critical condition that need urgent restoration to ensure the stable functioning of the road network in Kharkiv, Kyiv, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi, Chernihiv, and other regions.
We are also conducting routine maintenance and operational upkeep of public roads of national importance. Since the beginning of 2025, damage, destruction, and surface deformations have been repaired across 2,857.3 thousand square meters of roadway, improving travel conditions on 3,110.3 km of roads.
The majority of these works — over 70% — are being carried out on roads in frontline areas, as one of our priorities is to ensure military logistics and the evacuation of the wounded. Additionally, maintenance works are being performed on approach roads to international border crossing points.
The most active works are taking place in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Mykolaiv regions.
In 2025, road works are planned on 129 roads in frontline areas, with 49 roads already completed.
Rebuilding bridges and roads is one of the top priorities of the Restoration Agency. It ensures the livelihood of people in frontline cities, and supports humanitarian, military, and food logistics.
