We use various technologies for road repairs, one of which is the surface treatment method. This method of repair allows us to renew the wearing layer of the road surface, improve its traction, create a protective layer against water penetration into the road surface, stop the destruction of the existing pavement and extend its service life.
The technology of road surface reconstruction using surface treatment involves applying two consecutive layers to the existing surface: firstly, bitumen emulsion then fine gravel and its compaction.
The advantages of using this method are speed and cost. It is most often used where it is necessary to restore the road in a short time. In today’s realities, we use this method to restore certain locations on Ukrainian roads, including in the frontline areas between settlements with low traffic volume and low load on the roadway.
Currently, we are working on eliminating road deformations on national roads in Kharkiv and Volyn regions using this technology.
In particular, on the section between Berestiane and Tsuman on the territorial road T-03-12 /P-14/ – Zhuravychi – Berestiane – Tsuman – /H-22/ the road surface is being repaired using surface treatment. The works are performed as part of the operational maintenance and weather conditions.
