Ivan Fedorov, Head of the State Agency for Restoration and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine, held a working meeting with representatives of the British Embassy Kyiv. The parties discussed the results of the UK-funded Foundations for Infrastructure Recovery (FIRE) programme, priorities for critical infrastructure recovery, and opportunities to continue and expand cooperation, including the implementation of joint projects.

The meeting was attended by Ivan Fedorov, Head of the Agency for Restoration, and Max Petrokofsky, Head of Recovery, Energy and Economic Growth Programmes at the British Embassy in Ukraine.
One of the key topics of the meeting was the progress achieved in implementing Building Information Modelling (BIM) under the FIRE programme, supported by the UK Government.
With UK support, the Agency for Restoration has initiated the systematic introduction of BIM approaches into infrastructure project management. In particular, the Digital Construction Office (DCO) has been established, pilot projects are being implemented, the professional capacities of Agency staff and regional restoration services are being strengthened, and common approaches to digital project information management are being developed.

“We are grateful to the UK Government for its continued support for Ukraine and for the implementation of the FIRE programme, which has already delivered important practical results. Our priority now is to ensure the sustainability of the results achieved, continue implementing pilot projects, and scale up the use of BIM across other infrastructure recovery projects. We are also interested in expanding cooperation with our British partners, particularly in the recovery and protection of critical infrastructure,” said Ivan Fedorov, Head of the Agency for Restoration.
Another important part of the meeting was the discussion of opportunities to implement joint projects in the recovery and protection of critical infrastructure, particularly energy facilities, as well as the restoration of transport infrastructure, including bridges.
“The UK Government remains committed to supporting Ukraine, particularly in the recovery and protection of critical infrastructure and the strengthening of institutional capacity. We remain in close and ongoing coordination with the Agency for Restoration regarding current needs and priorities, including those related to critical infrastructure, and stand ready to continue supporting the Government of Ukraine in this area. It is important to jointly identify priority areas for cooperation and coordinate efforts with other international partners,” said Max Petrokofsky.
The parties also discussed opportunities to continue their cooperation, ensure the sustainability of the results achieved under the FIRE programme, and develop further joint initiatives.
In addition, they explored opportunities to strengthen institutional cooperation, exchange experience with UK government institutions, and organise a study visit for a Ukrainian delegation to the United Kingdom.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to maintain close coordination on priority areas of cooperation, particularly critical infrastructure recovery, the introduction of modern digital technologies, and scaling up the results achieved under the FIRE programme.
