Ukraine has developed unique expertise in ensuring the resilience and protection of critical infrastructure under wartime conditions. Sharing this experience with international partners is an important step toward strengthening the resilience of energy systems and expanding future technical cooperation.
Deputy Heads of the Agency for Restoration Roman Komendant and Yurii Sverba met with a delegation from the Republic of Lithuania led by Mindaugas Ivanavičius, Head of the Synchronisation Programme Implementation Centre at LITGRID. The delegation was accompanied by Daiva Matonienė, Energy Attaché of the Republic of Lithuania to Ukraine.
LITGRID is Lithuania’s electricity transmission system operator, responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of the country’s power system, managing electricity flows, and maintaining grid frequency stability. The company also oversees the integration of Lithuania’s power system into the European electricity network and implements strategic infrastructure projects, including the Synchronisation Programme with Continental Europe.
The primary purpose of the Lithuanian delegation’s visit was to exchange knowledge on Ukraine’s unique experience in ensuring the resilience, protection, operation, and rapid restoration of critical energy infrastructure under the conditions of russia’s full-scale invasion.
During the meeting, Roman Komendant, Deputy Head of the Agency for Restoration for Digital Development, Digital Transformation, and Digitalization, presented Ukraine’s expertise in designing, restoring, and protecting energy infrastructure during wartime, as well as innovative approaches to enhancing the resilience and reliability of the energy system.
The parties also discussed prospects for technical cooperation, knowledge exchange, and opportunities to implement joint projects between the Agency for Restoration and Lithuania’s electricity transmission system operator.
