Head of the Agency for Restoration, Serhii Sukhomlyn, together with Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration, Oleksii Kuleba, took part in an official visit to South Korea as part of the Ministry for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine delegation. During the trip, delegation members visited factories of Korean machinery manufacturers.

“South Korea has a strong interest in participating in Ukraine’s reconstruction. While most investments are expected after the war ends, we are already working on collaboration tools. One of them is the creation of leasing programs for Korean equipment and machinery. This solution benefits both Ukraine and Korea,” noted Serhii Sukhomlyn.

In Seoul, meetings were held with several Korean companies, funds and associations, including Eximbank Korea, KITA (Korea International Trade Association) and EDCF (Economic Development Cooperation Fund).

A Memorandum of Understanding was also signed with KOCEMA (Korea Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association). As part of the cooperation, a training center for heavy construction equipment operators will be established at one of the vocational institutions in Zhytomyr.
Students will be able to study using modern programs and Hyundai machinery. The center is also planned to provide professional retraining for military personnel who have completed their service.

“I thank the Ministry for Development of Communities and Territories, the Ministry of Education and Science and the Zhytomyr City Council for their prompt action in launching this program,” added the Head of the Agency for Restoration.
