Head of the Agency for Restoration Serhii Sukhomlyn, together with Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine and Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Kuleba, visited eastern regions of Ukraine. These frontline areas currently require special support and attention.

Since the beginning of summer, nearly 100,000 people have evacuated from communities located close to active combat zones. The government, National Police, State Emergency Service (DSNS), regional administrations, and humanitarian organizations are working daily to ensure safe evacuations, transportation of the wounded, military logistics and delivery of humanitarian aid.

That’s why maintaining roads in frontline areas in proper operating condition is a top priority for the Agency for Restoration. Currently, over 5,000 km of national roads and about 2,000 km of local roads are under maintenance and repair — with work being carried out in direct response to military requests.

Dnipropetrovsk region is one of the key areas through which evacuation corridors from dangerous territories run. So far, 8 key roads have already been repaired here, totaling around 200 km. Repair work is ongoing on 7 more roads in the Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv and Donetsk directions.
“The enemy deliberately targets roads used for evacuating civilians. To protect these routes, military engineers and regional authorities are installing anti-drone nets. This work will be intensified, and the Agency for Restoration is also joining the effort. Currently, the most critical road sections are being identified where these protective nets need to be installed first,” — stated Serhii Sukhomlyn.
