Since the beginning of the year, more than 5.7 million square meters of national roads have been restored — matching the total for the entire year of 2025

Across Ukraine, over 5.7 million m² of damaged road surfaces on national highways have been repaired since the start of the year, equaling the results achieved throughout all of 2025. These results reflect the work of road crews in just over two months.

Work is ongoing on public national roads throughout the country. The main efforts are focused on international highways, as well as selected sections of national routes. We are applying the large-area patching method, which allows us to quickly and efficiently eliminate major defects and improve driving conditions.

“After a difficult winter, much of the road surface ended up in critical condition. There are also other objective factors: in wartime conditions, state resources are primarily directed toward supporting defense forces and their logistics. That is why large-scale capital repairs are currently limited. However, ensuring traffic safety remains a fundamental task that we are fulfilling. The pace of work is increasing: we are now reaching an average of 200,000 m² per day. Our goal is to repair over 10 million m² of roads by summer,” said Serhii Sukhomlyn, Head of the Agency for Restoration.

Since the beginning of the year, the largest volumes of road surface repairs have been carried out in the following regions:

• Kirovohrad region — 596,000 m²
• Kyiv region — 526,000 m²
• Odesa region — 428,000 m²
• Dnipropetrovsk region — 381,000 m²
• Cherkasy region — 362,000 m²

We ask drivers to remain attentive and cautious in roadwork areas, follow temporary road signs, observe speed limits, and reduce speed in advance.
