Work is continuing in Chernihiv Oblast to restore the Forest Fairy Tale kindergarten, which suffered significant damage as a result of military action. Creating a safe educational environment for the youngest residents is important for a settlement with over 3,000 inhabitants. Before the full-scale invasion began, the kindergarten had 150 pupils.

Work on the restoration of the “Forest Fairy Tale” educational institution began at the end of 2023.
At that time, work was carried out on insulating and decorating the facade of the building, laying part of the external and internal communications, covering the walls with
plasterboard, and installing interior doors. The old playgrounds in the courtyard
were dismantled. Due to a change of contractors at the end of 2024, construction work was suspended.
In 2025, the project was revised and a new tender was held for the remaining work.

In August, reconstruction resumed with a new contractor. Currently, work is being carried out on laying electrical cables, installing water supply and drainage systems, installing a fire alarm system, insulating the basement, and installing a ramp. On the first floor, work is being carried out on installing underfloor heating. Preparatory work is being carried out in the courtyard for laying paving stones.
In general, the project involves a major renovation of the building with thermal modernization, lightning protection, and the mandatory installation of a shelter. It is also planned to renovate all external and internal communications, water supply, sewage, heating, and ventilation systems.
In addition to the renovation, the territory will be landscaped — we will install new, modern playgrounds to replace the old Soviet ones. The total area of the premises, including the shelter, is 2,500 square meters.
