Restoration work has begun on a five-storey residential building in Okhtyrka, Sumy Oblast, which was severely damaged in a missile strike on a residential neighbourhood in March 2022. The apartment building is being restored for 60 families.
Construction crews have already begun removing the damaged roof covering and are carrying out demolition work in apartments in the third and fourth sections of the building.
As part of the project, priority emergency restoration work is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2026, including:
▪️ installing and insulating the attic floor;
▪️ replacing windows and balcony units;
▪️ strengthening the building’s load-bearing structures.
The project is being implemented with financial support from the European Union under the Ukraine Facility, which supports Ukraine’s recovery, reconstruction and modernisation.
