In Zaporizhzhia region, major repairs have started on the M-18 international highway. Late last week, road crews completed organizational and preparatory work. Currently, milling of the worn road surface and installation of a new pavement layer are underway.
The M-18 road is a strategically important transportation route that plays a vital role in connecting Ukraine with other countries. It is also essential for building military, medical, humanitarian and evacuation logistics routes.
The repair works aim to improve the road’s traffic capacity, prevent further deterioration of the pavement layers, and ensure safer driving conditions.
Planned works include:
· Cold milling of the existing road surface
· Partial replacement of the roadbed foundation
· Installation of base and top asphalt concrete layers
All works are scheduled for completion by October this year.
