Repairing an Overpass in Kyiv Region

Roads and bridges
Kyiv region

We are carrying out major repairs of an overpass on the T-10-19 road near Makariv. During the active advance of Russian forces in 2022, Makariv became one of the key lines of defense in the Kyiv region. The overpass sustained damage due to artillery shelling and explosions.

This is an important piece of transport infrastructure for restoring safe and rapid connectivity between communities in the Kyiv region. A new structure is being built with partial dismantling of the old one.

Currently, specialists are forming a cone-shaped soil embankment near one of the supports. This is a crucial preparation stage for further construction of the bridge’s structural elements. In particular, works are ongoing on site clearing and preparation, soil placement and compaction of each layer to prevent settling, cone shaping, and its reinforcement.

These works ensure the structural stability of the bridge and serve as the foundation for installing transition slabs, safety barriers, and directly impact the durability and safety of the entire bridge structure.

Earlier, specialists had already completed pile backfilling with compaction, soil excavation for drainage installation at one of the supports, drainage stone placement, and preparation of a slab-based site for assembling the scaffolding for the first support’s crossbeam.
