Five multi-storey residential buildings are currently being rebuilt in Zaporizhzhia. Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration and Minister for Communities and Territories Development, Oleksii Kuleba, together with the Head of the Agency for Restoration, Serhii Sukhomlyn, visited the city and inspected two sites where repair and reconstruction work is actively underway.

On Nezalezhnoi Ukrainy Street, the restoration of a five-storey building is in its final stage, with over 86% of the work completed.
One entrance of the building was destroyed and two adjacent ones were damaged during a hostile attack. Builders have already restored the damaged section, completed masonry work, installed floor slabs, insulated the roof, repaired balconies, installed windows and laid utility systems.
The building is being rebuilt to house 150 families. Interior finishing of the apartments is now underway — a total of 59 apartments are being restored. Residents are expected to receive their keys very soon.

At a nine-storey building on Zaporizka Street, about 60% of the work has been completed. Last year, due to a breach of contract and halted construction, the contractor was replaced. Since November 2024, reconstruction has significantly accelerated. All nine floors of the destroyed entrance have now been rebuilt. Work is ongoing to insulate the roof and finish the interiors of the apartments.
The contractor is also taking residents’ preferences into account — a design guide with selected materials and color schemes has been developed for the interiors.
We are restoring 36 apartments from scratch, rebuilding the entire building for 72 families. The aim is to complete all work by the end of this year.

“Every such visit provides a clear understanding: despite all challenges, people continue living in their hometowns. They want to see them thrive. And most importantly, they are waiting for the restoration of their homes. The Agency has already restored one multi-storey building in Zaporizhzhia, with five more currently under reconstruction”,
— emphasized Serhii Sukhomlyn, Head of the Agency for Restoration.

The reconstruction of Zaporizhzhia is ongoing, and our top priority is to bring residents back to their newly restored homes as quickly as possible.
