Before the full-scale invasion, this location was an important space for the local community. The square served both as a transport hub and a center of commercial activity. In March 2022, it was reduced to ruins due to the russian invasion. All buildings and structures were damaged, and the utility networks were destroyed.
Now we are working to restore this vital public space. Currently, rainwater and domestic sewage systems are being installed: reinforced concrete wells and pipes are being laid. The next stages will include laying cement pavement and installing curbstones.

The project includes:▪ development of convenient pedestrian crossings and driveways;
▪ a new rainwater and domestic sewage network;
▪ access roads to the railway station;
▪ construction of parking areas for buses and private vehicles.

The goal of the reconstruction is to restore the square’s original significance — to make it comfortable and safe for people once again.
The reconstruction of infrastructure facilities, buildings, structures and utility networks in the square of Trostianets, Sumy region, is being carried out as part of the first phase of infrastructure restoration. It is included in an experimental project for rebuilding settlements affected by russia’s armed aggression.
