In the village of Ivanivka, Chernihiv region, we are rebuilding the cafeteria of the local lyceum, which was destroyed during combat operations in the spring of 2022. The blast wave and shell fragments damaged the cafeteria’s load-bearing walls, enclosing structures, windows and roof.
Reconstruction work began at the end of 2023. Specialists built the walls and roof of the building, insulated the facade, installed windows and roofing, completed masonry for internal walls and laid external sewage networks. Some of the internal utility systems were installed, and work began on the ventilation system and facade painting.

At the end of 2024, construction was temporarily halted due to a change in contractor. In May 2025, a new contractor resumed the reconstruction. Interior renovation is currently in full swing. Workers are finishing the walls and have started laying floor tiles.
After reconstruction, the cafeteria’s area will triple — to approximately 420 m². The building will be equipped with a modern fire protection system. New heating, ventilation, water supply, power supply and lighting systems will be operational. The needs of people with limited mobility have also been considered — a lift will be installed.

Background.
Ivanivka is the administrative center of a united territorial community. Children from surrounding villages, including neighboring Yahidne, attend the local lyceum. At the start of the full-scale invasion, the village found itself at the heart of active fighting. Many private homes and social infrastructure facilities were destroyed.
