Over 95 million UAH paid to the budget thanks to WIM operations

In the first nine months of 2025, more than 95 million UAH was paid to the state budget as a result of violations recorded by Weigh-in-Motion (WIM) automatic systems for administrative offenses in the field of road transport safety.

During this period, Ukrtransbezpeka ( State Service of Ukraine for Transport Safety) officials issued 4,345 resolutions against violators. The highest number of violations was recorded in Kyiv (1,169), Dnipropetrovsk (527), and Mykolaiv (413) regions.

In total, over the four years since the launch of automatic weight enforcement, more than 591 million UAH has been contributed to the state budget.

This is not just about additional revenue — it also means protecting hundreds of kilometers of roads. The system detects overweight trucks, which helps prevent damage to roads and bridges.

The Weigh-in-Motion system monitors overweight vehicles by using sensors embedded in the road surface. These sensors determine the vehicle’s weight, while cameras capture its speed, dimensions, and license plate. Violation data is sent to and processed by the Ukrtransbezpeka Data Processing Center.

Thanks to this axle load and total weight monitoring system implemented by the Agency for Restoration, it is possible to ensure round-the-clock traffic control, automatically record violations without human interference and effectively prevent road damage.

The development of WIM complexes is one of the key priorities of the Agency for Restoration. We continue to actively work on maintaining their technical condition, modernizing existing systems, and installing new ones.
