Major repairs on the M-07 Kyiv – Kovel – Yahodyn (towards Lublin) highway are progressing at an accelerated pace. The contractor is methodically constructing a new road structure, layer by layer, on the approach to the Yahodyn – Dorohusk border checkpoint.
On the section cleared of old pavement, road workers are first laying down strong base layers, followed by coarse-grained asphalt. On the segments where these stages are complete, the middle layer of fine-grained asphalt concrete is now being laid. Final surfacing with the top layer of asphalt will follow. At the same time, specialists are constructing pedestrian sidewalks to ensure safe foot traffic and backfilling the road shoulders.

The progress and quality of the work are being monitored by experts from the Service for Restoration in Volyn oblast, as well as independent technical supervision engineers.
As a reminder, the major repair of nearly two kilometers of the M-07 highway near the approach to the Yahodyn – Dorohusk international border checkpoint is part of a broader infrastructure initiative implemented under the EU’s Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) program.
The goal is to modernize this strategically important transport corridor, which facilitates freight movement through one of Ukraine’s key international border crossings with the Republic of Poland. The project aims to create safe and comfortable driving conditions and to improve the efficiency of international logistics.

This cooperation has been made possible through strategic coordination and communication between the Ministry for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine and the State Agency for Reconstruction and Development of Infrastructure of Ukraine.
