In the village of Mykulychyn, Nadvirna district, a contractor is carrying out major repairs to a section of the H-09 Mukachevo-Lviv motorway. The road is a strategically important artery connecting Ivano-Frankivsk region with Zakarpattia.
In June 2020, heavy flooding and mudslides blocked this road and partially destroyed the old retaining wall (411 m). At that time, traffic was restored within seven hours, but the section required a permanent solution rather than a temporary one. At the end of last year, the government allocated funds to start the work.

The project involves the construction of a 750-meter retaining wall and an 18-meter bridge across the Prut River.
A drilling rig is currently working on the site. More than 80 bored piles 4 meters deep have already been installed, most of which have been concreted. At the same time, an excavator is preparing a new site for further work.
This year, with the available funding, the following stages are planned: construction of a monolithic reinforced concrete foundation for the retaining wall, installation of prefabricated reinforced concrete blocks, and monolithic works.
In addition, the project provides for the construction of a sidewalk and outdoor lighting along the retaining wall, as well as a major overhaul of the bridge crossing the Prut River.
The implementation of the project will contribute to improving road safety and protecting the road surface from damage.
