Major repairs of the bridge near the village of Vorokhta completed

Roads and bridges
Ivano-Frankivsk

Major repairs of the bridge at km 16+391 on the road P-24 Tatariv – Kamianets-Podilskyi across the Machura River started in 2021.
The bridge over the Machura River (Vorokhta village) has a long history. Over a long period of operation its structures have deteriorated. A survey was carried out, which revealed the destruction of the stone bank piers and the erosion of the foundations of the river piers.

A temporary bypass bridge was built to allow traffic to pass through. After preparatory work the old structure was dismantled and construction of a new 18.5-meter-long bridge began.
The project was supposed to be completed in 2022, but due to the full-scale invasion and the termination of funding the work was suspended.
Thanks to additional funding in 2025 the Service for Restoration initiated the completion of the overhaul of this bridge.

What was done:

▪ dismantling of the bypass bridge;
▪ installation of spillway structures;
▪ reclamation of the bypass road;
▪ installation of barrier fencing;
▪ road marking;
▪ installation of road signs.

Overall, the P-24 highway within Ivano-Frankivsk region is almost 178 km long and has many bridges, including two over the Dniester River. Most of the bridges on this road are located in the mountainous areas of Prykarpattia. Therefore, their renovation is strategically important for logistics.
