A residential building in the center of Zaporizhzhia, located on Nezalezhnoi Ukrainy Street, was damaged on March 2, 2023. A Russian missile struck the middle of the building — part of it was destroyed and critical structural elements were damaged. Reconstruction began at the end of 2023.

At present, the main structural framework of the destroyed section has been fully rebuilt. Specifically, the walls and floor slabs from the 1st to the 5th floor have been restored, and staircases and landings have been installed. A new insulated roof with a parapet fence has been constructed. Specialists have also completed drainage systems, installed balconies, and completed glazing of balconies and windows.

Facade insulation is 90% complete, and work on the internal engineering networks is ongoing. At the same time, finishing works inside the apartments and balcony refurbishments are underway. Tiling is being finalized in bathrooms and balconies in the 1st and 4th entrances. Work continues on the installation of an individual heating unit duct in the 3rd entrance, along with the installation of curbstones and paving around the building.

The reconstruction project includes comprehensive restoration with interior finishing of apartments and restoration of essential external and internal utility systems. The surrounding area will also be landscaped, and the building will be made energy-efficient.
