A major rehabilitation project is underway in the town of Terebovlia on the M-19 international highway (Domanove – Kovel – Chernivtsi – Terebleche, towards Bucharest). The works include the complete reconstruction of the bridge and its approaches, covering a total length of 850 meters.

The project has already seen the removal of curbs and paving stones from pedestrian areas and the roadway, dismantling of worn-out and obsolete utility networks, and partial demolition of the deteriorated bridge structure. Construction crews are currently installing a new stormwater drainage system, water supply network, and sanitary sewer system.

Traffic restrictions for all types of vehicles will remain in effect on the M-19 highway between km 354+689 and km 355+566 in the town of Terebovlia until June 2027. During the construction period, traffic is being managed in accordance with a temporary traffic management scheme approved by the Patrol Police. Separate detour routes have been established for passenger vehicles and heavy trucks.

The rehabilitation works are being carried out as part of the project “Improving Cross-Border Mobility through the Construction of Regional Road No. 627 Kosów Lacki – Sokołów Podlaski and the Major Rehabilitation of the Bridge in Terebovlia on the M-19 National Highway.” The project is implemented under the Interreg NEXT Poland–Ukraine 2021–2027 Cross-Border Cooperation Programme.
The project’s objective is to strengthen sustainable, climate-resilient, smart, and multimodal national, regional, and local mobility, while improving access to the TEN-T network and enhancing cross-border connectivity.
