More than 500,000 people are receiving fresh water. This is the first time since the main water pipeline was blown up in 2022.
Status of implementation. Currently, the entire project is more than 96% complete. The entire pipeline has been installed: approximately 136 km in two lines, each 67.9 km long. Pumping stations have been equipped. Work is continuing on the improvement and restoration of access roads.

The Mykolaiv water pipeline is one of the state’s key and largest infrastructure projects. Its construction has become an example of a comprehensive approach, effective use of funds, and clear implementation deadlines.
Deadlines. In the fall of 2024, a feasibility study was conducted. In February 2025, construction work began. On August 26, the first 5,000 cubic meters of water reached the city’s water supply system and reservoirs. Prior to this, specialists had spent several weeks gradually filling the network in accordance with all technological standards. Pumping water allowed them to gradually check the condition of the entire system and avoid damage.

From the end of August, tender purchases were made for the supply of electricity and contracts were signed to ensure the stable operation of the water pipeline.
Power supply has been provided, and the pumping units at the stations have been started up. Fresh water is being supplied to consumers.
Capacity. Additional work was carried out during construction. In addition to 120 cubic meters of capacity per day for the population, an additional 50 cubic meters are provided for field irrigation.
Work on the construction of modern treatment facilities and the installation of solar power plants is being considered (project evaluation is ongoing).

Safety. Cable networks run underground. The structures of the pumping stations are partially buried in the ground and additionally covered with soil for protection. The construction of shelters for personnel is also in its final stages.
Efficiency. The current cost of the water pipeline construction is UAH 6.3 billion, including additional work. The initial cost of the project was UAH 8.7 billion.
The UAH 2.4 billion saved from the budget can be used to build water pipelines for six more communities: 180,000 people and 127 settlements will receive a reliable water supply.
