Four border crossing points in Odesa Region have been modernized, and a new service area for vehicle parking and road users’ rest has been constructed near the Reni–Giurgiulești border crossing point.
The modernization covered the Starokozache–Tudora, Dolynske–Cişmichioi, Lisne–Seiți, and Maloyaroslavets 1–Ceadîr-Lunga border crossing points. These facilities play a vital role in transport connectivity between Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova, as well as in the development of international logistics corridors.

A comprehensive range of infrastructure upgrades has been carried out at the border crossing points. The works included the installation of new modular buildings for personnel, modernization of utility networks, provision of backup power systems, installation of external lighting, canopies, and pedestrian infrastructure, as well as landscaping of the surrounding areas. Modern traffic management equipment and road safety infrastructure have also been installed to enhance operational efficiency and safety.
A separate phase of the project involved the construction of a modern service area along the M-15 Odesa–Reni (towards Bucharest) highway near the Reni–Giurgiulești border crossing point.

Covering an area of 1.7 hectares, the facility provides parking for 46 freight vehicles and 13 passenger cars, including designated spaces for people with reduced mobility. The site is equipped with public restrooms, sheltered rest areas, lighting, and the necessary water supply and drainage infrastructure.
The construction of the service area was implemented under the European Union’s Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) programme as part of the Solidarity Lanes initiative.

The implementation of these projects increases the capacity of the Ukraine–Moldova border, improves working conditions for border guard and customs services, enhances convenience for citizens and transport operators, and strengthens transport connectivity between Ukraine and the countries of the European Union.
