This week, in one of the communities of the Chernihiv region, the enemy targeted a team of road workers while they were performing maintenance on a state highway. A water truck involved in the repair work became the target of a strike drone. The 56-year-old driver sustained multiple shrapnel wounds.
The injured man was transported to a hospital. The special-purpose vehicle was destroyed in the resulting fire.
Roadwork in frontline communities carries an especially high level of risk, as it is conducted under constant threat of artillery strikes and drone attacks. Despite all the dangers, this work is vital to ensuring transportation routes remain open in border areas.
