A working meeting was held in Vinnytsia region to discuss the implementation of the project to construct a new cross-border bridge over the Dniester River connecting Yampil (Ukraine) and Cosauti (Republic of Moldova). The meeting was attended by Serhii Sukhomlyn, Head of the Agency for Restoration, Mykola Boiko, First Deputy Head of the Agency for Restoration, and a government delegation from the Republic of Moldova.

The event was also attended by Deputy Minister of Finance Oleksandr Kava, Head of the Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration Nataliia Zabolotna, Head of the Service for Restoration and Development of Infrastructure in Vinnytsia Oblast Eugene Shapovalov, as well as representatives of local and regional authorities.

During the meeting, participants discussed the next stages of the project, including updates to the feasibility study, the procedural steps required to continue bridge construction, and the organization of customs and border control services for the future launch of the Yampil–Cosauti international border crossing point. Following the meeting, the delegation visited the construction site to inspect the progress of the works.
Construction of the bridge began only a few months ago. To date, nearly one-third of the planned works has already been completed. The project is scheduled for completion in October–November 2026.
Once the bridge is commissioned, the route between Vinnytsia (Ukraine) and Soroca (Republic of Moldova) will be shortened by 28 kilometers. This will provide faster transport connections between Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova, improve logistics efficiency, optimize freight transportation, and reduce border crossing times.

The new border crossing will also become an important component of integrating Ukraine’s road network into the European TEN-T transport network. The project is included in the Strategy for the Development of Border Infrastructure with the European Union Member States and the Republic of Moldova through 2030.
“Logistics is of strategic importance for Ukraine today. The enemy continues to target bridges in an attempt to disrupt our logistics routes. We are rebuilding them. At the same time, we are creating new transport corridors and strengthening connectivity with our neighboring countries,” said Serhii Sukhomlyn, Head of the Agency for Restoration.
The implementation of the project will contribute to the development of border infrastructure, strengthen transport links between Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova, and further integrate Ukraine’s transport network into the European transport system.
