Work is ongoing on the construction of an overpass on the suburban section of the international highway M-05 Kyiv – Odesa. The future structure will be a tunnel-type overpass with exit ramps on both approaches and a roundabout interchange. It is part of the first phase of a multi-level transport interchange project.
More than 90% of the work has already been completed.
Currently, specialists are carrying out the following tasks:
- Applying leveling putty to the facade parts of the overpass supports
- Improving the waterproofing and durability of the bridge deck
- Grinding the stairways and concrete reinforcement of the embankment cones near the overpass
- Installing curbs and barrier fences
- Setting up road signs
- Surveying and applying horizontal road markings
- Laying a layer of topsoil on the shoulders and slopes, followed by grass seeding.
Completion of the first phase is scheduled for this autumn. This will significantly improve traffic capacity and safety at the M-05 Kyiv – Odesa highway junction. In addition, it will eliminate one of the most dangerous left turns on this major international route.
