Completing the reconstruction of the overpass in Lviv region

On the ring road of Lviv, near the village of Zymna Voda, the reconstruction of a bridge structure is underway. Road workers have laid the final upper layer of asphalt concrete on the overpass over the railway. Currently, they are reinforcing the slopes and support blocks. Next, damping systems will be installed, road markings applied, and traffic signs erected.

Earlier, specialists laid the lower layer of asphalt concrete pavement with a strengthened base, waterproofing, and drainage system. They also painted the lower part of the span structure, installed barrier fencing on the approaches to the overpass, and railings on the structure itself.

This overpass became the first project as part of the expansion of the Lviv bypass road. The city’s dense development and surrounding areas require appropriate road infrastructure, so expanding the roadway around the city is a critical need. However, due to the ongoing war in Ukraine, only the reconstruction of the artificial structure, which had been in an emergency condition, is currently being carried out.

The completion of construction and repair work is planned by the end of 2025, after which vehicle traffic will be directed through four lanes in both directions. At present, traffic is already operating on the repaired left side of the structure.
