Yurii Sverba, Deputy Head of the Agency for Restoration, took part in a meeting with Monica Juma, Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), during her visit to Ukraine marking the 35th anniversary of the restoration of Ukraine’s independence and the Day of the National Flag of Ukraine.

The meeting brought together representatives of Ukraine’s key anti-corruption institutions. The participants discussed strengthening cooperation in combating corruption and building the capacity of public institutions.
The discussions focused in particular on strengthening anti-corruption tools within the Agency for Restoration, managing corruption risks, ensuring integrity in public procurement, and developing whistleblower protection mechanisms.

The participants also discussed improving approaches to the management and development of infrastructure at road border crossing points.
UNODC confirmed its readiness to continue providing the Agency with technical and expert support. UNODC experts are already working with the Agency to strengthen its procurement and anti-corruption capacities.

Transparency and integrity are key principles of the Agency for Restoration’s work. Open procedures, effective procurement, and the reduction of corruption risks must be an integral part of Ukraine’s recovery process.
We continue to work with international partners to strengthen the transparency and effectiveness of Ukraine’s recovery.
