Comprehensive recovery is not just about rebuilding houses. It’s about the development and transformation of each community so that residents can live comfortably and have everything they need.

Head of the Agency for Restoration, Serhii Sukhomlyn, together with Head of the Poltava Regional Council, Oleksandr Bilenkyi, and Executive Director of the Association of Ukrainian Cities, Oleksandr Slobozhan, visited Orzhytsia in the Poltava region. The Head of the Agency for Restoration held a meeting with community representatives and presented the comprehensive recovery project using the example of one of the settlements where the Agency is currently working.

They also inspected the village infrastructure. The delegation visited a school and its shelter, the rehabilitation department of the Orzhytsia Hospital and the local Administrative Services Center.

“For many communities, comprehensive transformation is not just a task for tomorrow, but for the day after tomorrow. But we need to work proactively starting now. First of all, communities must lay the groundwork for decisions that will give them an advantage in the future by building local strategies,” said Serhii Sukhomlyn.

He also informed the representatives of territorial communities about the Centralized Procurement Organization and the approach to project implementation and coordination used by the Agency’s for Restoration specialists. He presented case studies of framework procurements and standard solutions that reduce implementation time and save costs. In particular, he discussed an effective approach to installing modular shelters in communities: it’s faster than building permanent structures and simpler to procure.
