The metal bridge over the Hnizna River in the village of Chernykhivtsi, Ternopil Region, has been reopened to traffic after repairs. It is part of the P-43 /M-19/–Lanivtsi–/H-02/ road.
This is an important transport artery for the development of the economy, social infrastructure, and logistics not only in Ternopil Region but also for the entire country. Around 10,000 vehicles pass through here every day.

In June, part of the bridge was damaged — a truck driver ignored the road sign prohibiting vehicles weighing over 28 tons.
Repair work lasted three months. During this time, the damaged structure was dismantled, new piers were built and a new metal bridge was assembled and installed. Specialists reinforced the riverbed, installed gabions on the bridge slopes, restored the approaches to the structure and strengthened their foundation, and applied horizontal road markings.
One of the advantages: the permissible load on the bridge has increased several times and now reaches 100 tons.

Prior to reopening, representatives of the state enterprise “National Institute for Infrastructure Development” conducted tests to assess the structure’s quality and reliability. According to the results, the technical condition of the bridge meets the highest operational standards.
The metal modular structures used to assemble the new bridge were provided free of charge by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) under the “Emergency Recovery Program” project. Funds for the remaining emergency repair work and materials were allocated from the state budget.
