We continue implementing modern solutions to ensure the stable operation of border crossing points in Zakarpattia Oblast.
The international technical assistance project “EU Support to Ukraine: Strengthening Integrated Border Management and Solidarity Lanes” is being implemented by the Service for Restoration and Development of Infrastructure in Zakarpattia oblast in partnership with IOM Ukraine (the International Organization for Migration) and funded by the European Union.

The project not only supports the modernization of infrastructure facilities but also helps create comfortable and appropriate conditions for citizens crossing the state border, business representatives, and personnel of control authorities.
Every installed module, upgraded facility, and modernized piece of technical equipment is a practical contribution to improving service quality, accelerating control procedures, and increasing the capacity of border crossing points.
One of the key areas of cooperation has been improving the energy resilience of border crossing points. Solar panels have been installed at the four largest border crossing points in Zakarpattia. Other crossing points have been equipped with uninterruptible power supply systems—powerful battery-inverter units. Eventually, these will also be equipped with solar panels. Work is currently underway to configure and integrate these autonomous power sources. This will enhance the energy resilience of the facilities and ensure the uninterrupted operation of lighting, communication, surveillance, and other equipment necessary for border operations.

Thanks to the support of international partners, the border crossing points in Zakarpattia are gradually becoming modern and energy-independent logistics hubs capable of operating 24/7 and providing an adequate level of security, service, and comfort for citizens and border control personnel.
We thank the European Union, IOM, and the Project’s partners for their systematic support and joint work on modernizing Ukraine’s border infrastructure. We continue to work on implementing modern solutions to strengthen energy security and develop state infrastructure.
